More mini books

This class was really neat. I learned how to make gatefold pages and split fold pages. This was the perfect format to store our pictures from Seuss Landing at Universal studios in FL. I plan on doing one from Santa's Land in VT with the Florida grand kids and apple picking and lawn mower pics of Pop-Pop and those Haskell boys! This type of book lets you organize really special moments without getting lost in an album don't ya think? My next project is a journal, it's almost finished, just have to embellish the cover. I'll post it real soon, I think you're going to love it!

I learned how to make mini books, yeah!

I have had the Bind It All machine for about 2 years now and finally found a place on line that offers classes. So, I have been taking the BIA 101 class and am having a blast! This is the first of several mini books. It measures 4x4. This one has an acrylic cover and the inner pages have all kinds of fun stuff like flap, pockets, insert slots, all sorts of fun things. I think the hardest part about paper crafting is choosing the right papers and embellishments so that each element has its own personality without it looking "cookie cutter" page after page. Hope you enjoy this Friendship book. I have a very special one I'm working on tonight and have a third one to finish this weekend so I better crack the whip and get creating, lol. I made an easel card!

I have been wanting to try this technique for a while. This is going to become a favorite of mine. Splitcoast stampers website has some fabulous tutorials on all sorts of card making techniques and Beate is a fabulous teacher. I've had these instructions for a while now but finally got a chance to try one. I think they will become additive! Can you see Easter cards in the future?

Happy Valentines' Day!

Its time to spread some love. I always try to give a little something to the grandchildren for Valentines Day. Two years ago it was the Target mailboxes, last year it was slider cards so this year I decided to do cute toppers for goodie bags. The girls bags have scraps left over from calenders I made last year and the heart is from Martha Stewart punch as well as a fiskar border punch. The boys bags have the red heart and left over scraps from Christmas cards! I love to find projects that utilize my scraps. I can't wait to see the kids faces when I give them their bags of love!!!

I’m out of the closet!

Here I am!!! That’s my other half! I’m usually the one taking pics so this is one of the only ones I like. Most of the time if I do happen to be in a picture it always has me being goofy with the grandkids! Fran and I happen to be in the same colors but it wasn’t intentional. It seems the longer we are married  the more we think alike, it really is scary sometimes!
