Touch A Truck LayOut

Cover Photo
Welcome Ladies! I hope you all had a great 4th of July. Boy it sure is hot out! We jumped from a cold winter to a wet cold spring and now the heat is baking us, geez. If you just came from Pinque Peacock's Blog then you know I have a surprise element to share but, you'll have to wait 'til the last pic, lol.
In honor of the Fourth I am doing a Red, White and Blue theme and these pics are fabulous to share with you. Our town recently had a fund raise and it was called Touch A Truck. The entrance fee was $5 or a maximum of $20/family. They had all kinds of trucks: fire engines, ambulances, garbage trucks, bulldozers, steam shovels, a police cruiser and even the portable dog grooming van! The children were allowed to climb in and really take a look, blast the sirens and turn on the lights. One of the trucks was a cement mixer and, since their grandfather works for the company, they just had to take a peek.
What caught my eye was the graphics on the cement mixer "We Support Our Troops". I love when a company shows their Patriotism and also that this is year round, all the time, no matter what the job. I knew some how I would have to do my Patriotic duty and share it with you as well. What better time than our celebration of Freedom. Isn't this Pinque Peacock Layered Garden Beauty flower the best on this layout?
I happened to be @ Michaels looking for any stickers or embellishments with trucks when I spotted this rubber stamp. I thought this was perfect for this layout since we all took the time to enjoy this day. There was one problem. When I inked it some of the white pigment plopped itself where I did not want it to be. I really did not want to stamp another so I decided to go with the flow. I went with the stars that were on the truck and used some acryllic stars I had knowing that my PP button would be the highlight. It sure is!!!
So I thought ok, this is not completely Patriotic but why not add some stripes with washi tape? Now I wanted to fill some blank space in the upper left hand corner so I used a Cuttlebug folder with stars. I used Don Juan for the font cut @ 1" shadow feature. I cut one set with white and one with blue and offset them when I glued them down. Are you ready for the whole layout?
Look at those cuties driving the truck! Needless to say the kids had a blast (and so did we). Wait, I'm missing something!!! Remember I went to Michaels looking for some sort of truck embellishment? Well, I should have checked with Jessica @ Pinque Peacock first. Guess what she is working on....
Yup, truck buttons! She even did a cement mixer one for me. You can find a collection of truck covered buttons in the "Dig This" section. NOW my layout is complete. So here is a tip for you: if you need something special for the perfect touch on your project check with The Pinque Peacock Store FIRST!!!!!! You can find the link HERE.

Here is what I created for this linky party....

Hope you will Craft It Up & Link It Up!!!

Hello ladies!!! I am so delighted to be here as a Guest Designer for Craftin' Desert Divas!Thank you Tara for having me. I love the fact that the theme is "On the farm" and that we had free reign to create whatever we wanted using whatever we have for supplies. That always makes it easy when trying to create. This theme gave me the chance to do a scrapbook page I have been putting off for a while. (I bet none of you ever do that, lol).
First I had to find where I put the pics on my computer, then printed out a few. Now I had to figure out what embellishments to use. Oh heck, here is what I came up with:

I started with 2 pieces of 6"x12" Provo Craft paper. The background reminded me of the wire pen that holds the goats.I adhered these to a piece of plain brown card stock for durability. After trimming the pics I mounted them on black card stock and did a little faux stitching with a white gel pen. I can't believe how much it made the pics pop! Next up: embellishments
.

Aren't these goats adorable? I cut them @ 2.5" from Animal Kingdom. The image can be found on page 27 button #5. I cut all the layers i.e. basic, black out and shadow. I love to leave the images on the mat and do my inking before I remove the excess paper around the image , I also used some distress markers to color in the hooves and to do the goatee.
I used a flour sack to use as a journal tag. This is from Paper doll Dress Up on page 46. I used some scattered straw ink for the edges and to give a little definition. For a more realistic view, I tied some twine on the edges for the corners.
I loved the pic of my grand daughter Alexis on the tire swing so I had to add some tires to my lay out. They are from the Pixar Cars cartridge and I cut them @ 1.5". I added some white gel pen for the treads and hung them with some twine before gluing it under the pic.
After taking a second look I decided to do some black faux stitching around the entire lay out. The "Fun" and "Trip" embellishments were something I had in my stash and fit perfectly in the tire opening.

Hope you will Craft It Up & Link It Up!!!

ANYTHING GOES
Now, onto my project today . . . .

Good morning my sweet friends and Pinquettes. I am so excited to be part of this fabulous event. In case you just stumbled upon my blog please let me explain what all the excitement is about. Jess from the Pinque Peacock and Stacey and Kendra from Sweet Stamps offered products from their companies to the members of both Design Teams for us to create some fabulous projects for you. We have busy creating with all our goodies and boy are we having fun!
The Sweet Stamp products I chose to use were: Wedding Swans and "with love" rubber stamps and also some gray ink spot. The detail on these stamps is fantastic and a great image to color with my copics. The Pinque Peacock products were: a large button from the May Release and a beautiful angel stick pin from the June release. I also used some 3girl jam ribbon that you can also get @ Pinque Peacock shop on FB. Just to get some business out of the way I have provide links to their shops below:

Since we had a wedding to go to in May, I thought for my project I would use the Wedding Swans Stamp. Here is what I came up with:
First I stamped the image with Momento Marker in Sweet Plum Ink because I wanted the colored image to stand out rather than a black outline. I used several Copic techniques to color my design. I have included the supply list of the copics below this post for you all to experiment with.

I started with a piece of grey card stock that has a sheen to it. I used the Spellbinders classic scalloped circles-large to make an aperture in a 5"x7" card. I also cut a piece the same size out of pink card stock. This gave me my placement for the image. In order to make sure it lines up perfectly, I add a glue dot to the back of the circle and carefully lower into the opening. Once I know that it is centered correctly I can then use my Xyron tape to hold it all in place.
Voila, perfectly centered! After I carefully colored my image I added some stickles to the flowers and to make the water glisten. I also used some gold Liquid Pearls for the wedding rings. Notice the slight blush to the swans cheeks. They look like blushing love birds, lol.

I just love the colors in this button and how it picks up all the colors I used in the stamped image. No matter what Pinque Peacock products I use, they always bring out the best in my work. Of course I had to add an angel stick pin. Believe me when I say that the pictures do not do these justice, they are so beautiful in person. I finished this card off by adding the sentiment with a Spellbinders deckled rectangle cut piece of card stock and Sweet Stamps "with love" sentiment. Since I layered this on a piece of glittered card stock
(we all know how hard it is to adhere anything to it, lol) I used some small heart brads to hold it all together. The look was completed with some 3GirlJam ribbon from the pink and white bundle.
I find sometimes when you make this type of card that it is hard to be able to add money or a gift card inside. You know I'm right, lol. So this is what I came up with:
Yup, I added a small glassine envelope inside! This allowed us to add $$$ to the inside, still have room to write and add an element of surprise when they opened the card.
I hope you have enjoyed my card and please be sure to check out the members on both Design Teams as well as visit the shops of these fabulous companies. Below you will find the copics that I used. Have a wonderful day!!!!!

Altered Box

Good morning my fellow Divas! I'm Diva Mary and I am so happy to show you a neat project as a member of the Cricut Divas DT . Today I am going to show you what I did with an old box a wallet came in and how my Cricut helped me perform some magic. For this project I used my original and trusty Expression as well as the flower Shoppe and
Graphically speaking cartridges. Let's take a look shall we: ???????????????????????????????
First I started with an empty box. I pulled out some scrap card stock and was lucky enough to find one that matched perfectly. I even had some pieces to make the flowers! These were cut @ 1" from the image on page 14 in Flower Shoppe. I cut all the layers in the handbook. I inked the edges and then spritzed them with some glimmer mist. here's a tip just in case you don't already know this. When making paper flowers it is best to ink first then mist. If you use the glimmer mist first, then the ink, the glimmer will get on your ink pad and that is not good for future projects. Just a little FYI.

After some ink and glimmer mist the flowers were shaped. I already had some mulberry printed leaves so, a little perfect pearls helped to add some shimmer. The rhinestone is by Crystal It. These are so gorgeous in person.
???????????????????????????????
I cut the butterfly and layer @ 1.25" and the phrase @ 1.50". These images are both found on page 57 in Graphically Speaking. You'll notice that part of the base layer on the butterfly is missing. I used the center point feature on my E but didn't set the blade in the right spot. I was not worried since the top layer would cover it. I added some Black Diamond Stickles to the top layer.  Here's the finished project:
???????????????????????????????
I also added some ribbon to the edge of the cover to really tie it all together: A few black pearls in the corners added the finishing touch.
???????????????????????????????
I used this box to give a few gift cards to my daughter for her birthday. Needless to say she loved it! I have some more info about this project on my blog: http://Mary-fortheloveofart.blogspot.com

Happy Birthday Amy!

Pinque Peacock
Hello Pinquettes! I think that Summer is upon us (at least it feels that way, lol). I have a very simple Birthday card to share with you today and, of course, it has a beautiful Pinque Peacock flower from the May release. Wait 'til you see what the June release has in store for you. The ever talented Jess has truly out done herself!
There I go again, changing the subject as usual! The card I made today is for my oldest daughter Amy (her birthday was yesterday). She loves the look of the Kraft card stock and not a lot of frills, more of a country look so that is what I went with. Ready to take a look?

Look how gorgeous this flower is!!! Luckily I had some scrap paper that matched it perfectly. Since she has 3 children I had to add a little whimsical touch thus the Peachy Keen flower and smiley face stamps. The exct sets I used were PK-273 for faceless flowers and PK-570 Basic Paper Doll Faces for the happy smile.
I used Momento Ink Markers in Dandelion and Lilac Posies which matches the colors on the fabric flowers perfectly. Of course I had to add a little sparkle so I used some gold stickles for where the sun was shining and some Pumpkin liquid pearls for the center of the flower. I also used a Pink By Design sentiment stamp ( age is only a #) for the Happy Birthday. My daughter loves this font so it is just the perfect touch to complete this card.

I was lucky enough to have some sheer ribbon and rhinestones in the same color palette. I was really pleased with how this came out.
You can find these beautiful flowers as well as a large selection of stick pins, beads and multiple styles of flowers over at the Pinque Peacock Shop HERE . Can't find what you are looking for? Just ask Jessica. She is so easy to work with and loves to do custom orders.
