Good morning fellow crafters! Isn't it great to see what everyone shares for their favorite things? I just want to make sure you are on the right track, so, if you came from Kimberly  then you are in the right place. I hope you have been inspired by all the projects so far.
Are you ready to see some of my favorite things? First I love altering then embellishments, all kinds! I love lace, flowers, rub-ons, bling and beads, dimension, metal etc. I think you get the idea, lol.
First I started with this beautiful box. One of my daughters bought me an Alex and Ani bracelet for Mothers' Day and presented it in this beautiful yet plain box.

Jessica sent me the most beautiful bag of goodies and so I grabbed some out and started to play. Here are the goodies:

These are from the May release. They are just gorgeous I tell you. I also added a few things from this month's Crafty Kit (more on that later!). You can find these items at the shop listed in the link above. Now let's see what I did with them!

I added some lace from July's Crafty Kit as well as the metal leaf, and pearls. The flower (Nana's pillowcase collection) and the stick pin are from the May release and are still available.

I also wanted to add something to the front so I used Silver foil rub ons that were also in the July Crafty Kit along with a small pearl. This box is the perfect size for little trinkets and I will certainly place it in a place of honor in my craft room!
Now be sure to head over to Rebecca for some fabulous inspiration. I wonder what her favorite things are?

Good morning and Happy Mothers' Day my pretty Peacock's!  Pinquette Mary here hoping you are all enjoying your special day whether you are a Mother yourself, spending time with your Mom or having fond memories of your Mom in Heaven, either way I hope you have something special planned. Speaking of special, oh my goodness what great projects on this hop. If you just came from Kimberly then you are in the right place! Today I wanted to share with you an with a easy way to preserve those beautiful invitations you receive without ruining them and of course dress it up with beautiful Pinque Peacock supplies.

I knew as soon as Jessica showed us the new products for the hop that Nana's Pillowcase would be my favorite and it is. The colors matched my grand daughters invitation perfectly and includes all the colors. Since chalkboard art is so popular now, my daughter used this invitation to the First Communion. Bold and yet soft enough for the occasion.
In order to preserve all the info that was also included on the back of the card I decided to add a band of card stock, dress it up and tack it down on either side with flower brads. This way I could always remove it without damaging the card.

I just love how soft this flower is and I couldn't believe how perfectly it goes with the card stock I had on hand. I also had some "spare" leaves hanging around and added some lace and this epoxy frame to really draw attention to the fabric Splendid Swirls flower. You can purchase them HERE
Lastly, I needed something to balance off the lower right hand corner so I used a piece of lace for consistancy and I had an embellishment in the Mind's Eye stack I had but it needed something. Of course sparkle...bling... rhinestones... and...Stickles!!

So there you have it a simple yet elegant way to save this wonderful card. It will be fun to look at this in later years. Be sure to hop on over to the ever talented Rebecca and be prepared to be inspired!

A New Beginning As a Pinquette!

Today's Deals on Cricut.com
Good morning ladies and fellow crafters. Take a look around, do you see anything new? Come on my announcement is here for all to see. Didn't see it yet? Look at the right side bar. There ya go, lol. I am thrilled to now officially announce that I have joined an outstanding group of overly talented ladies. After being on another Design Team for over a year, I decided I needed a change. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed my time on the other team and learned a lot but I was thrilled when the opportunity arose to apply for a position with the Pinque Peacocks owned by Jessica Shelton-Buffa a fellow crafter with an amazing on-line store. She and my fellow DT sisters welcomed me with open arms. I am so lucky to be with some old friends and look forward to making some new ones on this Team. Wait until you see the talent over here. O My Gosh!!! This is just so exciting for me.
For those of you who have come to my "home" for the first time let me fill you in on a few facts. I am a wife for (almost) 40 years, mother to 5 grown adults ( there is a set of twin ladies in there) and Mema to the most beautiful, talented, awe inspiring 8 grandchildren (3 girls, 5 boys).I retired from nursing (I was a Labor & Delivery room R.N.) when my second child was born. ( Thank God 'cuz the twins followed about 2 1/2 years later. I sewed dance costumes, prom dresses etc to help pay for extra activities for our growing family. My therapy was to take all kinds of craft classes, tole painting, ceramics (my least favorite medium BTW), advanced sewing classes, both Copic Certification classes, flower arranging etc, etc. As you can see I love crafts. These skills have helped me to work as a floral designer for the last 12 years and boy was that handy with weddings, showers, christenings and all kinds of parties. I recently retired since my back will no longer let me, lol.
Okay that's enough about me. This new DT has given me the opportunity to create what I want, when I want and in whatever medium I choose. The Pinque Peacock has THE most fabulous products from flowers, to stick pins to fabric covered buttons as well as gorgeous stretch bracelets. You can find their products HERE  This link takes you directly to the product page. Click on a picture and feast your eyes on the yumminess, lol.
I thought I would share a card I made with you today. Hey, this is a crafting blog so I don't want to disappoint you, lol. Before I share this please envision how great this would be with a PP flower. I do not have any in yet but rest assured future projects will be loaded with goodies!
My base for this card is from My Minds' Eye Life Stories "Roses" pattern. I grabbed a piece of good quality cream card stock and embossed it with a cuttlebug folder. I found the heavier card stock gives a great embossing effect. Next up the flowers.
I used Flower Shoppe to cut my flowers with the image on page 14. I also used a Spellbinders to cut the leaves. I wanted to add some "Drama" to the card so some of the leaves are out of black glitter card stock. I have these great rhinestones and this one was perfect for the card.
I have a lot of little pieces of lace from former projects (I don't throw anything out, lol. Glad I didn't!). I just wove a narrow pink satin ribbon through the lace. Stamped a nice sentiment and, Voila, I have a great card. I'll probably use this for a wedding.
There you have it, my first post as a Pinquette! I hope you have enjoyed my Bio as well as my first project. Be sure to come back on Friday as that is the start of our 3 Day Irish Blog Hop. You'll all be dancing the jig for sure!!! Have a fabulous week my lovelies.

Vintage Looking Box

Aloha and Happy Monday! You read that right I am here in Hawaii while my daughter has some surgery done. Hopefully all goes well today.
I hope you all had a chance to hop along with Erica's Team over the weekend. Oh such talented ladies! If not, be sure to check out the 100 Cart Blog Hop on her blog: http://mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com/
Today the Design Team was asked to show you projects using the Imagine, E2 or CCR, I chose to use the Imagine and the Imagine More Cards cartridge.
Isn't this a beautiful box? The image is in the Bonus Content section on page 28. I chose to make this at fit to page and used the colors just as the are. I did use my crop a dile to make a hole and finished with an eyelet to string my ribbon through. Now the fun begins. I took a scrap piece of lace and used a running stitch to gather the lace into a "flower". I had a small fabric rose left over from some project so I thought this went really well with the colors in this box and added it to the center of my "flower".
I had a rather odd "pearl" so I added that to the flap for a little extra bling. Of course I couldn't stop there!  I have so many beads from different projects that I thought I'd try my hand at a stick pin. Oh I love how this looks! I had to use some glue dots to adhere it.
I even had a small charm that says "Made With Love". I really love how this came out. My best friends' birthday is in the middle of March so I made this with her in mind. I just have to figure out what to put in it, lol.
Be sure to checkout what the rest of the Design Team has to show you today. You can find them here:

I Love Sewing!

My Creative Classroom is where I take a lot of classes and this is just the latest: Mixed Media. I have always wanted to learn the principles of this art form ( and use up some scraps!). I love detail so this was a project where I could really let myself go!
First I started with a scrap of tapestry fabric, some coordinating fabric, some buttons and some lace when it hit me, why not do something for the sewing area of my craft room? I pulled out a zipper, some floss and embroidery yarn ( a project that has long gone by the way side!) and a vintage button.
After I fringed the edges of the tapestry I laid out my scrap fabrics and fused them onto the tapestry. Next i did some decorative stitches by hand before I added the zipper.
The image is from Tim Holtz which I added some Rangers Glossy accents to before gluing it to card stock and fabric. I have so many letter beads that I decided to spell out "sewing" and added pearl beads in between the letters to soften the look.
The pin with the thread and scissors was a gift years ago for my sister-in law since we both share a love of sewing. I made a ribbon hanger that I glued to a piece of card board and then glued the two together for some stability. This looks so good in the sewing area of my craft room!

Pink Lady And Another Blog award.

I have completed the beginners' Copics classes @ http://simplyscrapping.ning.com/. So I have become daring and colored my first digi stamp. This stamp is from Pink by Design and she has such cute stamps! I also added this to their copic challenge where the only requirement was to use the color pink. ( I think I have that covered, lol).
     I used the following colors:
Face: E01,E00,E000,R20
Hair: E13, E15, E17
Shoes and Hat Ribbon: C1, C3, C5,C7
Dress and Hat: RV02, RV04, RV06
Boa: R81, R83, R85 Spica hot pink
Star: Y13,Y15, Y19
I also had some trim left over from a Donna Salazzar class I recently finished so that went on the card as well. The paper is from a stack called "All About Girls" from DCWV. I also added some stickles for her necklace.
The newly added blog award was from Audrey @ Cute And Some.http://cuteandsome.blogspot.com/2011/06/my-im-steampunkin-project-and-blog.html. Please check her blog out she has some great projects over there.
Upon receipt of this award I have to let you know 8 more things about my self and pass this on to 8 other blogs. First, the 8 things about me:
     1. I love my husband! We have been married for 38 years and are the exact opposites. He is quiet and reserved, I'm outgoing and social.
     2. I love a good joke and can be quite silly at times.
     3. I love my children. There are 5 of them and they all have very unique personalities which I love. They are all very accomplished and talented in their own fields.
     4. I love my grand children all 8 of them! The are so close in age that I feel like Mema + 8! They are truly God's blessing to us and make us realize how fast time goes by.
     5. I love crafting, all types of crafting: paper, painting, sewing, beading etc.
     6. I love learning new things. Perhaps that is why I love taking on line classes. I can learn at my own pace and practice to my hearts content.
     7. I love to wake up to the smell of coffee ( okay, I'm addicted, lol).
     8. I love the feeling you get when you walk out of church, sort of like life is beginning anew.
Now for the lucky ladies ( and yes there are 2 guys that I follow, lol) who amaze me with their talent. Please be sure to stop by and give them some love.
