This month the theme is all about Spring with wonderful colors and also Easter projects. Yup, after a long snowy and cold winter, who isn't ready for Spring? For my project I decided to decorate some "purses" for my 3 grand daughters for Easter rather than a basket. The grand sons may get the baskets, lol.
I bet you are saying "what the heck is that? Well, I had some clear purses and decided to ink some up. I first used some alcohol inks in the following colors: watermelon, pitch black, sunset orange and pearl. I inked this from the inside and used plenty of alcohol blender until I got the colors and look I wanted. Next I taped it down to my table with a piece of foam underneath my purse. This is because I wanted to do some stamping but didn't want it all over but just on the front piece. I always stamp on top a piece of foam. I found this gives me a nice crisp print.
This is a close up with the stamping. I wanted to add some dimension so I used some rhinestones and liquid pearls to make the flowers pop.
I had inked the handle with just the pitch black alcohol inks and then added some gold braid that I had in my stash. Are you ready to see what I did with my Pinque Peacock flower and stick pin?
Yup, I used it as the faux closure on my purse! If you haven't tried any of these products then what are you waiting for? I particularly LOVE these sweet stick pins! They are simply gorgeous! I stuck mine through this beautiful felt flower and chose the stick pin that matched the button. I curved the bottom of the stick pin up and added a small love charm. You can purchase these wonderful products @ the Pinque Peacock store HERE.
     Here is the completed purse:
All I have to do now is fill it with some goodies!
Next stop: the amazingly talented
 Jessie

Put Me In The Story Books

I have a wonderful product to share with you. It's called: Put Me In The Story. This is a wonderful company that allows you to personalize favorite childrens' books only your child is put in the story. How cool is that!
They have many books to choose from.I especially love this one by the Olympic skater Kristi Yamaguchi. This was taken from Kristi's blog explaining how wonderful it is for her children.

Personalized Books and the Power of Dreams
I am excited about Poppy the pig being a part of the Put Me In The Story personalized platform because it’s such an innovative and creative way to really engage a child’s imagination within a book. There’s no better way, in my eyes, for a child to connect with a story than when they are the star of it! So just like Poppy, I can see how Put Me In The Story will encourage kids to Dream Big!
