Good morning all you wonderful Pinquettes! Mary here with my project for the September Challenge: stamping and journaling. This is our 9th challenge and a really fun one. Since I have twin adults daughters who have birthdays in October, I really have to plan ahead, lol. They love my cards but also love the tags I have been creating.

It is hard to see in the picture but I stamped it first with the phrase, then added an acetate tag overlay. The rose detail was a die cut with my Cricut to which I added some stickles. To finish it off I added an off white 3 Girl Jam ribbon. Did you know Jess carries this gorgeous crinkle ribbon in the Pinque Peacock Shop? You can purchase some HERE.
I plan to slip this tag inside one of these cute little manila envelopes. Yup, they are also available in the SHOP. Take a look around and you'll find the Stickles (glitter glue) there as well.

I plan to add some handmade cards in this recycled cigar box and include the card inside. Can you find the angel stick pin? I purchased the box at Michael's and painted it with black paint then used Beacon's laminate to "paste" the paper in place. I also used some Tim Holtz music tissue tape for a little interest. In my stash I found this metal accent that says "be an original". I find this amusing since, although my daughters are twins, they are both originals! These metal flowers I had just went perfectly.
The angel stick pin is so fitting on this box. Have you tried these yet? They are my all time favorite Pinque Peacock product. They can get some at the Pinque Peacock Shop.

I just had to show you the front of my box. While I try to destash some of my supplies,  I came across a strip of this soutache type braid and this lace bow. All I have left to do is make another box and fill both with cards. It's going to be a busy month!

Now it's your turn to add your project to our challenge.

Good morning, I am so delighted to have you stop by and see my project for the Hop. If you just came from Kimberley then, if not, You'll want to be sure to see her wonderful project on her BLOG
In keeping with our theme of Stamping and Journaling, I decide to create a card for my Husband who has a birthday coming up Tuesday. First the base card. I used a beautiful card stock from the Shop. It has a wonderful sheen to it and is a great weight. All projects should start with a quality base. You can find this and other card stock  HERE.

I chose this wonderful sailboat stamp and colored it with my Copic markers. I have both Certifications from Copic and sadly I don't use them nearly enough so this was a wonderful challenge for motivation. I have noticed people using colored pencils lately and thought I'd add a little tip here. After you color your image try using Gamasol with a small blender over the areas you colored. It blends the colors in and makes it look like watercolors and gives a nice blended look. You can find gamasol in the art department at your local craft store.

The background paper is Thomas Kincade and went so well with the scene I was trying to create. If you follow my blog then you know I love dimension and this card was no exception. I had gotten some sparkle gel pens from Jess so I used them to highlight the clouds and the waves. Just a few touches adds so much realism! I also used the Glaze black pen to make the birds stand out.

Did you know the Pinque Peacock carries these pens? You can get them in the Shop HERE
The journal part was simple. I used Tim Holtz words, short and sweet but to the point don't ya think? I finished this off with some Bakers' twine and Voila my Hubby's card is done.
Your next stop on the Hop is Rebecca and you don't want to miss seeing her project. However you might just want to check out the information below to enter your project in our September Challenge, who knows, you just might be our next winner!!!

Memories Album

Make sure to become a Follower
then Stop by the 300 Follower Giveaway TO ENTER TODAY

Good morning Pinquettes! I am finally back from my cross country trip and ready to share a wonderful project as Guest Designer for the Pinque Peacock. Boy I sure wish I had planned this better and made one that was larger to handle all my brochures! Here is what I am talking about:

This is an 8"x8" album that also serves as a journal. I wish I had made one taller and more narrow so it could fit the brochures and maps we collected of our trip. Yes, while my daughter, son in law and myself relied on our smart phones, my husband was more confident with a physical map. I have to admit that at times, he was more accurate!

I have told you about all the goodies you get from the Crafty Kit Club that Jess offers. Well, the metal leaf, small mulberry flower and pearl dots came from the July Kit that Jess was kind enough to send me. I just love the metal leaf, It has a hole at the top so you could use it as a charm as well.

I wanted to use this stamp but it just didn't pop until I found this epoxy frame in my stash and luckily the color matched perfectly! Once I added the flower the album looked complete.

The inside has envelopes that I made to match the page which is a perfect pace to add a picture.

I love to add a journal page to record all the highlights of your adventure. this actually is a year journal but would easily adapt to a Road Trip album where you could brochures, receipts and tickets from your trip.
You can shop for the kits HERE. You get so many supplies that it is easy to create many projects.
But wait..... there is still time to enter the Challenge for August (Sparkle and Bling). I am definitely going to enter this one. You can link up HERE.
I hope you all have a wonderful week as the kiddos go back to school. That surely means more crafting for some, lol. You can also find more details about this project @ my blog.

Frozen Inspired Necklace

Hello fellow craft enthusiasts! Today I have a wonderful project to share with you. But first I have a confession to make. I lost my mojo. Yes, its true. For weeks now I have been trying to come up with something unique. Nothing, nada not even a flicker of an idea. I have been so busy making Elsa and Anna dresses for 18" dolls that my head was struck on FROZEN. I tried to let it go, I really did but, try as hard as I did, I still could not come up with an idea. Sparkle and bling, snow and ice, sparkle and bling oh Mary just let it go.
So I pulled out my remaining supplies from the July Crafty Kit that Jess had sent me. After pouring over the goodies, there it was.... a bottle cap.

At last some inspiration. Why let it go? Not me, so I decided to make a necklace of Elsa and Anna! First I googled an image of Elsa and Anna. Then I sized it in my Sil Cameo and printed it on Square 1 printable vinyl. After cutting it to the size of the bottle cap I added it to the cap and covered it with Mod podge.

Of coarse you need Sparkle so I used some stickles on the edge of the image. Once it was dry I added an epoxy topper but you could also use triple thick or any jewelry coating. I used a piece of 1/8" ribbon and threaded it through the pearl beads with silver spacers. This particular bottle cap did not have a hole in it so I used a metal tool by Ranger. It still needed more sparkle so I thought, what about snow?

Yup, that looks better. I did add a little more glitter while the snow was still wet. All that was left was to add a magnetic clasp. I think I have my mojo back!!!
Be sure to check out the Pinque Peacock shop where you will find all the supplies you need to make one yourself. You can go shopping HERE

Now its your turn. Why not add your Sparkle and Bling creation to our 8th Challenge? You can get the 411 http://pinquepeacockchallenges.blogspot.com/

Crafty Kit Altered Book BY Mary

Good morning and what a beautiful morning it is! Mary here and I am so excited to be using the Crafty Kit. As a Design Team member for Pinque Peacock we are so lucky to receive wonderful goodies from Jess to work with and to inspire you (as well as ourselves, lol). Let's get started....

This is what I received in the sample pack. There are plenty of goodies to work with from the basics to beautiful embellishments. What I love about these kits is that you have plenty of supplies for multiple projects. I had used some on my hop project, of course of this project and have a lot more left for future projects. Let's get started.

First I started by painting the mache book. I used Beetle Black acrylic paint by Martha Stewart for the front, back and binding. The "pages" were done with Silver since I wanted to use silver foil for the special touches on the book. Then I used Beacons Liquid Laminate to add pink and purple tissue paper as well as the printed paper from the kit. I know a lot of people use Mod Podge but my favorite is the liquid laminate. It not only acts as a glue but seals everything in so if you decide to stamp, emboss etc your surface is ready to go. I also used it to add the ribbon before I added the top paper to make sure it was glued in. The paper does seem to ripple when wet but be patient, unless you have huge bubbles it does seem to level out when drying. Just go slow and add the laminate, lay your paper and laminate top as you go. This dries really quick!

Next up: rub ons! These go on so easy and add that wonderful bound look to your book. These foil rub ons appear to be some what reflective and add a touch of elegance. Great for vintage looks as well.

See what I mean? I used the corners to tie in with the binding and wanted this to look like a cover on the book. I love how the tissue gives a feel of leather. At first I wasn't sure how it would be with the black paint but I love how it came out. Even the purple tissue on the bottom shows up. One other note about the laminate it really shows a brighter look to your papers. The Cover paper I used I had distressed a bit first and added Antique Linen distress ink to the edges for a more worn look. Just like your favorite book!

I usually add dimension to my projects but for this one I wanted it to look like an old book sitting in the library. I love the foil rub ons and definitely have to get more. HERE is where you can purchase these.
If you would like to learn more about this project then be sure to head over to my BLOG

Good morning fellow crafters! Isn't it great to see what everyone shares for their favorite things? I just want to make sure you are on the right track, so, if you came from Kimberly  then you are in the right place. I hope you have been inspired by all the projects so far.
Are you ready to see some of my favorite things? First I love altering then embellishments, all kinds! I love lace, flowers, rub-ons, bling and beads, dimension, metal etc. I think you get the idea, lol.
First I started with this beautiful box. One of my daughters bought me an Alex and Ani bracelet for Mothers' Day and presented it in this beautiful yet plain box.

Jessica sent me the most beautiful bag of goodies and so I grabbed some out and started to play. Here are the goodies:

These are from the May release. They are just gorgeous I tell you. I also added a few things from this month's Crafty Kit (more on that later!). You can find these items at the shop listed in the link above. Now let's see what I did with them!

I added some lace from July's Crafty Kit as well as the metal leaf, and pearls. The flower (Nana's pillowcase collection) and the stick pin are from the May release and are still available.

I also wanted to add something to the front so I used Silver foil rub ons that were also in the July Crafty Kit along with a small pearl. This box is the perfect size for little trinkets and I will certainly place it in a place of honor in my craft room!
Now be sure to head over to Rebecca for some fabulous inspiration. I wonder what her favorite things are?

It's All About The Hat!

Good Morning my lovelies, Pinquette Mary here on this gorgeous Saturday Morning! Today I am so excited to share my Anything Goes post with you. I recently ordered some gorgeous fabric covered buttons from the Pinque Peacock Shop  and Jessica just whipped them up right in time for me to use on my projects. I just love Nanas' Pillowcase collection.
Yup, I said projects using the same base but using different embellishments to add that sense of style. Here we go......

I am fortunate enough to be able to test patterns for a doll pattern company where the designers have you test their patterns before they are released so that all the kinks are worked out and you have a well thought out pattern. When I tested this Cloche as well as a "straw" hat pattern I knew there would be a way to use the fabulous Pinque Peacock buttons in the decorative phase. Recently Jess sent me the ones I needed to finish these so first I had to tweak the pattern.
I did want to explain a little about my "models". Samantha is an American Girl doll I got on ebay. The one on the left is an Our Generation doll from Target. When testing patterns I use both dolls to ensure that they fit both. The 3 Girl Jam ribbon is great to use for these since it has a little "give" to account for the different size heads. The AG dolls have wayyyyy more personality as well. But I digress....

Did you know that you can specialize how you want your buttons? You can have them either with shank or no shank. The pink one on the left is without the shank so I could just glue it on the crocheted flower whereas the one on the left has the shank so I could just sew it on the raffia bow. I also used some 3 Girl Glam crinkle ribbon on the purple hat (I know it looks blue, but, trust me it's purple!) Yes, Jess also carries this great ribbon in the SHOP in a variety of colors.

Here is the same shank button application on the straw hat. Again these buttons are great and very versatile and really can dress up a project. I case you are not into dolls, this would be a great way to dress up your own beach hat for a truly distinctive look. This would be great to add a group of these buttons with some crinkle ribbon. Cool idea, huh?

Pinquette Mary here with my post for Anything Goes. I chose to make a shadow box with mixed media. I guess you would say it's where Pinque Peacock and Tim Holtz meet, lol. Since June used to be the month for weddings (as a Floral Designer I can honestly say we have more Fall weddings lately) I decided to do a Love project.

Can you believe how awesome these Layered Garden Beauty flowers are? They are available HERE in a variety of colors. Did you know you can custom order these in what ever color you'd like?
Jess loves to do custom orders. All you have to do is tag her on the Shop page.
I also used the fabulous 3 Girl Jam Ribbon also available in the shop. If you haven't tried this wonderful crinkle ribbon then you are really missing out on a fantastic product.
Did I mention that I also used Tim Holtz? Those are his grunge letters that are awesome with PP flowers. I used the Pitch Black Dabber by Ranger on the letters first then added some gold to shade the letters.

I added one of Tim"s trinkets with the FOREVER saying to the lower flower center. The background paper and the blocks "Day By Day" where also included in the paperstack. I used some Jolee fabric flowers and bows as accents. Of course flowers need stems so I used some fibers for them. The large Layered Garden Beauty has some 3 Girl Jam ribbon for its stem. I was going to add a clock face but I thought it would overwhelm the project so I opted for a stamped image instead.
Well that's about all there is for details. i hope you have a wonderful week.

Altered Tag

Pinque Peacock Challenges & Link Ups
Welcome ladies for our 5th Challenge: Altered Tags. Pinquette Mary here with my submission for this challenge and of course I used a layered Garden Beauties.  I already used a Splendid Swirls for my layout on the hop and knew I would use the Garden Beauty for my tag. before weget started I just wanted to include the link for where to find my personal favorite from this month's release: Nana's Pillowcase. They are absolutely gorgeous! You can find them at the Shop HERE . I digress, lol, Let's take a look at my tag shall we?

I love how bold this flower is! For this tag I started with the flower and built everything around it. I started with a Tim Holtz manila tag as the base and found some cardstock with the same color and tiny pink polka dots on the background. It was perfect to do some heat embossing with this script lettering stamp.

I found this saying in a my stash of quotes and loved the saying as well as the colors. Just a little matting with black and yellow to set the saying off but it still lacked something, but what? Well of course, BLING, duh!!! I had these perfect hot pink pearls and decided to off set them from each other. Why? It's because I am the artist, the creator of this project sooo...I can that's why, lol. My word of advice just try it. If you like it perhaps someone else will as well.

Now it's coming together! I added a punched border and found this wonderful birdcage sticker and it seemed perfect for this tag. All there was left to do was to add some inking to the edges of the tag base, adhere and add some 3 girl Jam ribbon and there you have, my altered tag.
Now it's your turn to enter this fun challenge. You can do that HERE. I can't wait to see what you create!
I have entered this tag in the Anything Goes challenge @ 3 Girl Jam. You can enter HERE with your magnificent tag!

Good morning and Happy Mothers' Day my pretty Peacock's!  Pinquette Mary here hoping you are all enjoying your special day whether you are a Mother yourself, spending time with your Mom or having fond memories of your Mom in Heaven, either way I hope you have something special planned. Speaking of special, oh my goodness what great projects on this hop. If you just came from Kimberly then you are in the right place! Today I wanted to share with you an with a easy way to preserve those beautiful invitations you receive without ruining them and of course dress it up with beautiful Pinque Peacock supplies.

I knew as soon as Jessica showed us the new products for the hop that Nana's Pillowcase would be my favorite and it is. The colors matched my grand daughters invitation perfectly and includes all the colors. Since chalkboard art is so popular now, my daughter used this invitation to the First Communion. Bold and yet soft enough for the occasion.
In order to preserve all the info that was also included on the back of the card I decided to add a band of card stock, dress it up and tack it down on either side with flower brads. This way I could always remove it without damaging the card.

I just love how soft this flower is and I couldn't believe how perfectly it goes with the card stock I had on hand. I also had some "spare" leaves hanging around and added some lace and this epoxy frame to really draw attention to the fabric Splendid Swirls flower. You can purchase them HERE
Lastly, I needed something to balance off the lower right hand corner so I used a piece of lace for consistancy and I had an embellishment in the Mind's Eye stack I had but it needed something. Of course sparkle...bling... rhinestones... and...Stickles!!

So there you have it a simple yet elegant way to save this wonderful card. It will be fun to look at this in later years. Be sure to hop on over to the ever talented Rebecca and be prepared to be inspired!
