Lollipop Bouquet

Today I attended Mia's 1st "dance" recital I'll use the term loosely since she had a little case of stage fright! At least she moved one foot, a little, at the finale. Oops! Anyways, since she got flowers and a candy bouquet after the recital , maybe next time she'll show us a few of her 3 year old moves!! Since she really has a sweet tooth, Mema (me) thought she should have a lollipop bouquet. I made it with dum dum pops. First I used various size spellbinder round scallop shapes cut out of plum tulle, larger size white tulle + pink paper then the largest circle of 2 pieces pink paper and finally 2 pieces green paper. After cutting all materials you will cut a small slit in the tulle and then slip the pops in the center. I then wrapped a pipe cleaner around the stem to secure the tulle and pop and wrapped in white floral tape. You will need 10 pop flowers that you proceed to form into a bouquet. Next I used a 6" plastic dowel (the kind you use for stacking cakes) and stuffed the "bouquet ends into the dowel. This is when you add the 2 pink circles and then the 2 green circles from the bottom of the dowel to just below the lollipop flowers and secure with white floral tape. To finish off you add a sheer bow to the base of the "flowers" and glue small metallic ribbon loops among the Flowers. Wrap ribbon around dowel and secure with a glue dot. Be prepared for smiles and giggles! I hope you'll try this technique as it is reaaly simple to make. Enjoy, Mary.

Just Us Girls Challenge

I am so excited. I found a challenge for these awesome digi stamps @ a site called Just Us Girls. They had a free download for this adorable beaver named "Bucky" and the challenge was to use it with one of Lauren Meader's templates. Lauren does unbelievable templates for all kinds of creative packaging. She has just opened her own online store that has downloads for her templates, coordinating digital papers and her own stamps that go along with the whole theme she is showcasing around her templates. I'm in love with her "stuff" Her store is My Time Made Easy. I'll try to link you with both her site and the awesome digi's from Just Us Girls. Hope you enjoy my little project for this challenge. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in my comment section.

Sunshine Girl

Like I said, I've been procrastinating! This is such a fun layout and I have the perfect picture Granddaughter #1! Since she lives in Florida and I love to work with flowers it was a no brainer to use the Bird of Paradise from Life's A Beach. The colors are my favorites of all time, peach, salmon, off white and sage green. Luckily I have plenty of shells both from Shell Island in Fl and Marconi Beach on Cape Cod. I used vellum paper for the "birds" to give it a soft look. The sunshine girl is on chipboard then placed on a tag with chipboard and raised on pop dots. All this so it would raise above the sea shells. It was fun doing this layout especially with snow on the ground, makes me think of the tropics.

Vinyl heart

The last few days I have been quite busy doing projects for upcoming challenges. The great thing about challenges is that it motivates you to think about long overdue ventures you have been procrastinating about doing or about future events you need a gift or a card for! I wanted to enter a challenge that Bitten By The Bug 2 is sponsoring for vinyl offered by Expressive Vinyl. Who couldn't use more vinyl! It had to be a project using any cartridge for the cricut and had to have some form of purple. Oh and it had to be Valentine themed. This is what I came up with. Now to figure out who to send it to, lol.
