sweet treats ice cream card

For those of you following me, you know I'm all about learning new techniques! My grand daughter Alexis turns 6 shortly (where does the time go!) so I decided to incorporate some of my alcohol ink papers and combine it with the sweet treats cartridge. The ice cream cone, layers and shadows were all cut @ 3".
Of course I had to emboss with the cuttlebug! The ice cream layer is the one I'm talking about. I like to think of it as strawberry, bubble gum and vanilla all rolled into one! The strawberry was cut from regular pink card stock then M Stwarts' glitter on top. When doing this glitter technique I run the die cut in upside down so the tacky part is on the front, the glitter sticks great, then I use zig glue on the back to adhere to the project. The decorative border was cut with a Fiskar edger and the fabulous paper is from My Mind's Eye Home collection. This paper is just so decorative and seems to have endless possibilities! No card would be complete without some bling so I chose to use pale pink pearls ( say that 3x fast!!!) from reflections. I just know she is going to love it!
