Read The Manual, Dummy!

Okay I had a duh moment. I liked my Imagine but was having some trouble. The main thing was I could not seem to get a good shadow with my cuts ( rather no shadow) . It didn't seem to matter whether I used an Imagine cart or one of my older carts. I was going to call the company today but thought, hum, why don't I read the manual? What a great idea!!!
Here's what I learned: true size is like real dial size so if you size with this everything does not cut to proportion in other words you have to use relative which sizes everything accordingly. What an amazing thing it is to READ how to do this, lol.
A lot of people have asked can you use your older carts and color with the Imagine; the answer is YES.

This is a project I did for 2 challenges. One is for the Cricut Circle blog weekly challenge to make something using pink (in honor of breast Cancer Awareness month), bling and at least 2 cuts. Also for the challenge @ Just Us Girls (JUGS) to use an acetate somewhere on your project.
The outside of the card is acetate with Thanks and Thank You stamped in Stazon Ink. The inside paper is from "Blossom" Cricut Imagine and the card was from Plantin Schoolbook. I love this card base from PS because of the dotted edge. The "Thanks" label on the front is from Lacy Labels and all the layers were cut using the Blossom CI cart. How cool is that. I inked the edges with Memories ink and Tim Holtz distress inks. I finished it off with a brown satin ribbon and some gradient bling from Creative Charms. So there you have it. Can I just say I Love My Imagine. When in doubt: read the manual!!!
One last thing I will leave you with. My first thought for the Circle blog challenge was to do something for Breast Cancer with our youngest daughters and grand daughters in mind. My hope is that we will have a cure by the time they are grown. However my project was so simple with only one basic cut I could not enter it but wanted to share it with you. This is my middle grand daughter Mia.

Well done - what a pretty and meaningful card - love the barrette you made too. Thanks for making JUGS one of your stops along the challenge road!
