Mani-Pedi Mini Album

     Welcome to My Cricut Craft Room's Fun Friday! Yup today the Design Team was asked to use a Cricut Lite cart for their scrapbook LO and I used Slumber Party to make this cute album of 2 of my grand daughters having a spa day while on vacation. This post is picture heavy and loaded with details but I promise you are going to love it, lol!!!! So let's start with the cover:

     I started with a chipboard kit I got in the clearance bin @ Michael's for a buck! I love the colors brown and pink together so I started with some scraps of paper from K&Company: Best of Brenda Walton and covered front back and inside pages.The title Manicure and Pedicure was cut from the Slumber Party cart @ 4''. I used all the layers and just added some faux stitching around the edge. I also had some word beads that I added to the cover and, of course, some bling.

     I do like to mat my pics. I think it helps them pop!

     I cut all my dies for these girlie pages @ 2". Again I used some faux stitching to make my die cut stand out. I also decided to add a small flower to balance it off.

        This is my favorite LO. I used the make up brush and mirror dies for this page. The small heart on the mirror is from the heart opening on the brush. It makes it like a  vanity matched set. I decided that rather than make a journal tag I would just go for it and use a gel pen that Erica sent me. I love using it and find I use it a LOT!

     What is a Lay out without some embossing? I think it ties the two pages together quite nicely. I used the nail polish die for this page and added some blue stickles since the polish they chose was blue sparkles! I have been going through my stash of supplies and found this blue and pink border and thought it would finish these pages off.

     You guessed it, more doodling. This is Mia and her big cousin Alexis. They were so excited to have a spa day together!

     Check out the water Mia was soaking her feet in. They both use chocolate AND strawberry fizz balls. Oh BTW, this spa is Scoops and is @ the Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg, VA. It smelled so good in there. The only problem was that they had their spa day the first day we were there. It was not a good idea. Since there is a water park inside the Lodge, the chlorine destroyed all their polish the same day they had it done. Thankfully they went home with their own bottles of polish!

A Very Special Birthday Card

     Aloha My Friends. I am so happy you decide to stop by today. Yup, I am still in Hawaii. I'll let you all know how things are going when I get back home over the week end.
     Well it is Monday so that means another day with the wonderful Imagine machine. I think by now you know how much I love this machine by Provo Craft, lol. I also am getting so much more comfortable with the Cricut Craft Room (CCR).  Last week I showed you the wonderful Vintage Box I made for my friend so I just had to make a card to match.

     First I chose the three paneled window card from Imagine More Cards on page 14. I sized this @ 5.5" and kept the colors the same. Next I used the image found on page 31 for the roses and cut them @ 1.5". I cut out 4 of these, 2 to position on the card and 2 to embellish and pop up. For the bling I used Diamond Glaze and Donna Salassar's Pixie Dust. This is such a sparkly glitter I just love it!
     Now it was time to use the CCR. I wanted to print the Happy Birthday sentiment from Martha Stewarts' Elegant Cakes because this Font is so pretty. I also wanted to add a butterfly for a little something to compliment the card as well as the greeting.

     First I started by placing the card image on my mat. I copied, pasted and then flipped the design. This was so that the oval would be on the right side of the mat for me to print my saying. I wanted to show you what I meant so after taking this pic I deleted the top image and slid my image to the top.

     Now it was time to ungroup the images and move them apart.( I cut the third panel). After choosing my HB greeting on page 47 in Elegant Cakes@ 1" I added the butterfly @ .5" from page 48 and welded the 2 together. I love how easy it is to weld in the CCR compared to the Cricut Design Studio. Now comes the tricky part. I placed the 2 panels side by side making note of where the + was on the panels and placing them on the same line. This was after I had placed my HB where I wanted it to fall on the oval. I did it this way because I wanted to just cut the solid panel and not cut out the oval. The oval is where I wanted to just print.

     When you go to work with your images you want to be sure you saved them on different mats. This way I was able to chose to work on each layer separately. The layer was printed first with the Birthday on velum and then I cut the solid panel by itself. (I used velum but wanted to show you the single layer I cut. I hope this is clearer than mud!!

     Here you can see all the mats I used, lol.

     I used some liquid Pearls to accentuate the oval and colored the butterfly wings with Spica glitter pens.

     You can see the dimension by popping up the flowers. I used the velum to cover the window since I wanted the beautiful printed paper on this card to show through.

     There you have it, a beautiful card for my friend. I also want to wish our top Leader Erica a very Happy Birthday tomorrow. Thanks Erica for allowing me to share my project with all of you. Vintage Looking Box

    Aloha and Happy Monday! You read that right I am here in Hawaii while my daughter has some surgery done. Hopefully all goes well today.

     Today the Design Team was asked to show you projects using the Imagine, E2 or CCR, I chose to use the Imagine and the Imagine More Cards cartridge.

     Isn't this a beautiful box? The image is in the Bonus Content section on page 28. I chose to make this at fit to page and used the colors just as the are. I did use my crop a dile to make a hole and finished with an eyelet to string my ribbon through. Now the fun begins. I took a scrap piece of lace and used a running stitch to gather the lace into a "flower". I had a small fabric rose left over from some project so I thought this went really well with the colors in this box and added it to the center of my "flower".

     I had a rather odd "pearl" so I added that to the flap for a little extra bling. Of course I couldn't stop there!  I have so many beads from different projects that I thought I'd try my hand at a stick pin. Oh I love how this looks! I had to use some glue dots to adhere it.

     I even had a small charm that says "Made With Love". I really love how this came out. My best friends' birthday is in the middle of March so I made this with her in mind. I just have to figure out what to put in it, lol.

     Each month Erica's Design Team shows you features and projects using 100 different carts. Each member is required to use 3 different carts either as separate projects or all three carts on the same project. I am going to show you 3 individual projects using: Batman, Toy Story and Slumber Party (gotta throw something in there for the girls!)
     First up Batman!

     I love how easy this was to make. I chose the container on page 71 fit to page and used DCWV brights cardstock. I cut the "Party" @ 4". I used both the shadow in blue, and the regular letters in gold card stock.

The character was cut @ 3.5 and I used a shimmery card stock from Recollections. I decided to use a white pen to add the eyes and mouth because these pieces were way too small to fool with. The other pieces I just popped into the Xyron 250 and used a pair of tweezers to put the pieces where I wanted them to go.

                   After adding some distress ink to the "flash" behind Batman, this box is good to go!

                                                     Next up the army guys from Toy Story.

     I love this image and the sentiment might be appropriate for a serviceman's family that is relocating or someone who got a promotion. I'm still trying to figure out who I would send this to, can you think of one?
     You can find this Icon on page 65 and all layers are cut @ 3.5". I must confess, I lost 2 of the dots on the ! points and really did not want to cut another image for 2 dots and I could have done them in CCR or used my Gyspy and the Hide Contour feature, but....I just pulled out my cropadile and punched out 2 small circles. That problem solved! One of the greatest little tools is the Quickie Glue pen by Sakura. It has just the right size tip for those hard to glue pieces. Everything else went through my Xyron. I love that I have all different sizes of these machines. These are my go to tools for gluing, lol.
     What do think about the background metal paper? I used a silver card stock, ran it through the cuttlebug with an embossing folder. Then used Ranger Sanding Grip to rough it up a bit before adding some inks.. I used so many alcohol inks I can't even begin to tell you, lol. I think it took around 7 colors including  Rust, Meadow, Black Soot , Caramel just to name a few. If you have the Imagine and the cartridge Textures you can achieve a similar effect with one of the papers that is included in this cart. I just love working with the alcohol inks even if it is more work!
     Last but not least, I used Slumber Party to create this fun cupcake card.

     I cut the card this using the card option and flooded the colors on the Imagine using the Berries and Cream cart. I love to then add my personal touch with the use of Diamond Glaze and Pixie Dust by Donna Salassar and some stickles for the Jimmies.  I ran the cupcake wrapper through the "Branches" cuttlebug folder and
inked the edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink. I also added some Smooch Spritz in white to the cupcake icing.
     The best part was adding some dimension to the frosting edge with a Snow Marker by Marvy. Erica included some as a little something extra with my last order and I just had to try it out, lol. This is the coolest stuff! You "write" it on the area, let it dry and then heat it with a heat tool to get it to puff up. This is just so neat, lol. Thank You Card

     Good morning ladies. I hope you all had a wonderful and productive weekend, I know I did. Mondays at My Cricut Craft Room the Design Team shows you projects made with either The Imagine, E2 or CCR. This week I used the CCR and my Imagine to create this simple Thank You card.

     I used the new Greeting Cards Inside Out cartridge for the Imagine. The base is from My Minds Eye "Out & About" premade cards. I bought this pack several years ago and hadn't found a project to use them on until now.

     I used the image on page 25 and opened it in the CCR. I chose the ribbon @ 5.25 wide so it would automatically fit on my 5.5" base and sized the circle Thanks @ 2"" high. This way I was able to center the image where I wanted it on the "ribbon" and then welded the two together.Let me show you how I did this:

     The top image is the preset with the Thank you circle on the end. When I selected this one I clicked on the edit group and at the top chose to not weld. This separated my two images. Now I was able to change the size of the ribbon and circle as well as the color. I was then able to place the circle where I wanted it. You could also rotate the circle  180 degrees if you wanted to place the image vertically rather than horizontally.

Once I had my 2 images centered where I wanted them I just welded them together.

     Now I just grabbed a doily I had hanging around but thought the new image was rather lost so I used the scalloped circle on the Image and filled with the same color but sized it @ 2.5". After a little inking I just glued everything together and tried out some Candi bling I just got in. These little gems are awesome! Believe it or not they are made of paper which makes them really light so easier on the postage but they truly are beautiful. Happy Valentines' Day!

     Happy Monday! You know what that means, it's time to use either your Imagine, E2 or the Cricut Craft Room. Well, since my husband gave me a HUGE Valentines' Day project to do, I used both my Imagine and the CCR.
     My husband is a tool salesman and is in and out of garages all day long. He wanted to offer a package his customers could give their wives, mothers or girl friends for Luv Day. All I had to do was make a simple card and tag to package them up with. No problem I say until he told me he needed 50 of them! Are you serious, 50, in less than a week? I'm a floral designer, my busiest day. How on earth am I going to pull this off you say?
     Easy, with a little help from my Imagine and the CCR.

     He wanted something very simple, nothing cutesy so we decided on Kraft card stock for the base. I used Art Philosophy and the card feature on page 69 @ 5.50". I used a 12x12" sheet of paper so I was able to cut 2 cards on the same page. Then I cut the solid heart out of red @ 2.75 and the layer in cream @ 2.5. They were so easy to put together since I just traced the open heart with a pencil and adhered the heart in place. I used the score marks on the card to lace some ribbon through and tie in a bow.
     I thought it would be too time consuming to use a stamp on all those tags so I turned to the CCR. I first chose the V-Day sentiment from MS Seasonal Cake Art and placed it on the screen. I added a second mat layer to place a tag from Fabulous Finds. This made it easy to size the sentiment in just the right place on the mat. After some copy and pasting, I was able to fit 18 tags on an 8 1/2 x 11" pieces of red card stock.

     I am so glad I used separate layers. You can combine them on the same page however, I discovered that by using them separate I could chose whether to cut, print or both. The first time I chose cut and it was not too successful since it cut everything. The red sentiment was usable but since I did not weld the tag was not.

     Above you see where I used one mat and printed out the sentiment.

     After they were printed I went back and chose the label mat I had made and so I was able to just cut the label. This was helpful so I could also cut more labels to glue my cut sentiments to. (Waste not want not, lol).

     This is the printed label. I just went back and added some faux stitching with a white pen.

     I also cut a 3" heart tag on the same page on Art Philosophy. One cut was with the heart and the red base on solid card stock. Added just a cute heart charm and they were done! I actually wound up doing 60! Bet you would love to see what is inside:

   That's right ladies: pink socks, folding scissors and a chocolate rose pop! Don't laugh, the socks are really comfortable. They got 1 pair each of the low, crew and mid calf socks. I would have loved to make a frilly card but these guys are down to earth and really didn't want to spend a fortune on flowers. They are really practical guys!!!
